CITIZEN COMP FORMAT

Price is $35 for entry fee and raffle ticket. (Open competitors that compete in Qualifiers at The Spot and do not make Finals will be able to compete at the price of $15 during the 4th Session at CATS on Saturday from 1p - 4p.)

The Citizens competition is open to all ages and abilities. As with the format used at ABS 9 Regional Championships, the ABS 9 National Championship Citizens competition will have skill-based categories (Recreational, Intermediate, Advanced, Open), in addition to Masters (40+) and Youth (11-).

Everyone climbs together in a typical redpoint-style ABS comp. There will be at least 40 problems to choose from and competitors are allowed as many attempts as time allows. Points are earned for completing a problem - each problem has an associated point value relative to it's difficulty. Each competitors final score is the sum of their 5 highest point problems completed. There are also small deductions for each fall taken on those 5 problems.

Specific Details and Changes for ABS 9
This year, due to space limitations at CATS of 50 competitors per session, we are offering four Sessions of Competition.
Session One - Friday, Feb 15th: 1p - 4p
Session Two - Friday, Feb 15th: 5p - 8p
Session Three - Saturday, Feb 16th: 9a - 12p
Pre-registration is available for the three Sessions listed above and is on a first-come, first-serve basis.

There will be a final Session on Saturday afternoon for which no pre-registration is available.
Open competitors that competed in Qualifiers at The Spot on Friday, but did not make it to Finals
will receive participation priority for Session Four.
Registration is on-site Saturday for Session Four and there is discounted rate for Open competitors that competed in Qualifiers.
***However, if all 50 slots are not filled by Open competitors from Friday's Qualifier, then the remaining slots
will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis for any competitor that is at the CATS facility.
Session Four - Saturday, Feb 16th: 1p - 4p
Registration for this Session will open at 12p on Saturday
